This delicious compote is really easy to make and probably doesn’t deserve a whole blog post but, seeing as I use it so often as a dessert accompaniment, I figured I may as well go through how I make it!
The sugar that is naturally occurring in the berries, as well as the honey, means that this compote should last for up to two weeks after it is made. Store it in an airtight jar in your fridge.
1 bag of frozen mixed berries
3 dessert spoons honey
1. Boil the berries for several minute until even the larger berries are fully cooked and sold.
2. If you prefer a smoother compote, you can mash or sieve the mixture. I prefer to have whole berries in my compote.
3. Add the honey and stir.
4. Allow to cool, store in an airtight container, and refrigerate.
Mix with yogurt for an especially delicious breakfast, or devour it with a chocolatey dessert!
